So.... what brings you to the Forged Lands?

The boat trip from the mainland is expensive and dangerous. The return journey even more so. The people here are... difficult. The weather is mental... it rained blood the other day. My washing was ruined.

I'm here for two good reasons.

One - I'm just mad for treasure. This place is one big mass of temples and ruins and dead cities, royal throne rooms with no guards, all ripe for the plunder. 
Two - My parents have always been warriors. Lots of pressure to go to war, be a big man. I was plenty good at thwacking folk with the family hammer, but all I've ever wanted was to run a business. So I ran away. Here I am, opening the first Adventurer's Guild in Sanctuary!

If you want a companion that is the combination of a keen blade and a keener wit, with a dash of suicidal rage, I'm your Gnome. Height jokes and touching my cape WILL result in vicious and swift reparations but beer, mead, wine and good company will bring you a friend who's good in a scrape.

Hello Adventurers

My name is Jurathor Astorio, and I am a Cleric of Mishakal. I have come to these lands to track down and end the life of a foul necromancer lord who had taken up residence here. I specialise in the healing and fortifying arts so if you require the aid of a healer, find me and I will accompany you on your quest. My best friend, Beatnik, will also aid in any such mission, he is not skilled in the mystic arts but he is a brave and formidable fighter, who has lived through horrors most will only experience in their nightmares

If you hear anything of the name 'T'Zakal' I would be most grateful if you could pass the information on to me

A necromancer eh? Island's crawling with the filth.

They are barred from Sanctuary as a rule. But sometimes they still weasel their way in through the city walls. We know the location of an underground market where they sell their wares amongst other lowlifes and criminals. We know they have a small outpost nearby too. No-one's ever wanted to go there though.

Red Scarlotte, a ranger, has been investigating a dying forest that might have something to do with them too.

Nice to have a healer on board! Dangerous place, this island.

I was abandoned by my people in my hour of need. So I have committed myself to helping those that so called "heroes" and "adventurers" leave behind.

I am Orzu Fizzlespark, my friends call me fizz...le me introduce myself.

Originally from a small gnome village near the western sword mountains.  I studied the arcane for over 35 years before leaving to follow an expedition with my grandfather to the nether mountains.  We were to research the Morueme, a beautiful species of blue dragons but in all honesty I was just as interested in the opportunity to study the local area; especially that of the surrounding forests for ingredients for new potions.  We mainly avoided the orcs fighting over the moon pass by staying in Silverymoon pass to the west, however the real danger were the Red Flayers.  A nasty tribe of hob goblins who were inhabiting the Doomspire citadel and seemed determined to hunt and kill the Morueme.  The Red’s (as we came to call them) quickly began targeting us after we thwarted their efforts on several occasions.  During one night attack my expedition was almost entirely wiped out and I was forced to retreat and return to my village as one of the few survivors.  

A few years on and upon hearing of the reappearance of the Forged Lands of Shaar, I am once again on my travels to explore a distant land and forget the losses of the past.
